"I wanted to be a graphic designer when I started out," reflects Karen Meyers, business manager of Printing Services at Michigan Farm Bureau. Enthralled by a high school graphic arts course, the Grand Rapids, Mich., native enrolled at Central Michigan University, where she majored in industrial supervision and management with a graphics concentration. While at CMU, Meyers took an internship with The Planning and Zoning Center where she helped lay out newsletters during school breaks.

Grand Rapids Community College's Printing, Mailing and Graphic Solutions department hosted an open house yesterday to show off its capabilities, including its new MGI Meteor DP60 Pro multi-substrate digital press. More than 20 demos were done for the in-plants, franchisees and commercial printers in attendance at the event, which was co-hosted by Graphco, the MGI dealer that handles sales, service and support for GRCC.
The demand for high-quality color printing was growing by the day at Grand Rapids Community College. So in September the 20-employee in-plant installed a Meteor DP60 Pro multi-substrate digital press from MGI Digital Graphic Technology.
