Mohawk Fine Papers
Two new distinct business units have been created at Mohawk—Mohawk Fine Paper and Mohawk Digital—to support the growth of its emerging digital business while securing the future of its core fine paper business. The company has tapped Kevin Richard as president of the Mohawk Fine Paper Div.; and Paul Biesiadecki has been selected as president of Mohawk Digital.
The new Mohawk Live app was specifically designed to enhance materials printed on Mohawk fine paper, connecting the high-touch medium of paper with the high-tech experience of augmented reality. The app provides seamless integration of print with dynamic, interactive content, transforming a one-dimensional image to a multidimensional experience featuring 3D images, videos, photos, infographics and animations.
In recognition of Earth Day 2013, Mohawk announced today that it has been named to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s national list of 100% Green Power Users list for the seventh year in a row. Mohawk is ranked among other leading renewable energy purchasers including Intel, Whole Foods Market, Staples, the US EPA, Union College, and the Empire State Building.
Mohawk has introduced 68 new synthetic products specifically engineered for dry toner presses. Mohawk's digital substrate line expansion brings the total number of specialty substrates to over 120—making its digital portfolio one of the broadest and most extensive available for HP Indigo and dry toner use.

Mohawk will launch Project Streamline, a strategic consolidation of its core paper lines, taking 22 paper grades (brands) down to six. The company will focus its manufacturing exclusively on high-margin papers and products that will bring distinct value to the new generation of print customers.
To realign its manufacturing platform to meet the needs of a changing market, Mohawk Fine Papers plans to close the Beckett Mill in Hamilton, OH, at the end of the year. A shutdown would include the mill’s three paper machines and would affect 137 union and salaried employees.
