Kodak is “well on its way” to completing its reorganization and the financing will support the company as it develops its plan, Andrew Dietderich, a Kodak attorney, said at the hearing. Kodak said in a statement that it plans to emerge from bankruptcy in the middle of this year.

To keep Michigan Farm Bureau's Printing Services operation running efficiently and effectively, Karen Meyers depends on Avanti's Graphic Arts Management System. Its estimating, order entry, inventory management and reporting modules, as well as Avanti's eAccess Web-to-print software, have streamlined the in-plant.
The print industry lost a long-time member and supporter one week ago with the unexpected passing of Mark Bonacorso, president of PR and marketing firm MediaINK. He was 58. Mark was known and respected as an innovative, creative marketing and PR professional who brought a realistic, practical perspective to how clients should communicate their messages.
It was hard for in-plant managers not to feel special at Graph Expo this year. After years of being included seemingly as an afterthought, in-plants were given the spotlight this time around, with numerous sessions focusing specifically on in-plant issues and a new networking hub called "The InPlant Place" where they could gather and mingle. Some vendors set aside special areas devoted to solutions for in-plants, and one (Rochester Software Associates) offered daily in-plant networking receptions.
Helping customers save time and money is every in-plant's mission. So when Sun Life Financial's Document Services Group discovered that a department was hiring temps to manually stuff envelopes—and taking a week to 10 days to do it—John Moschilli had to take action.

Graph Expo wrapped up its four-day domination of Chicago's McCormick Place on Wednesday, leaving memories of a surprisingly busy show floor. The crowds were augmented by hundreds of in-plant managers, scouting out equipment and attending the numerous in-plant-focused sessions. IPG Editor Bob Neubauer chatted with dozens of managers on the show floor, at the sessions and in the "InPlant Place" area, hosted by the In-Plant Printing & Mailing Association.
Graph Expo starts on Sunday, and in-plants are expected to play a major part in the graphic arts trade show. As we've noted several times in recent weeks, the Chicago show will be packed with seminars exclusively for in-plants, along with receptions and networking opportunities. In-plant managers from all over the country are expected to be at the four-day event.
It was anything but destiny that led Steve Schmuger to become manager of an in-plant printing operation. Inquisitive and intelligent, he majored in philosophy of science at Boston University—not quite a road map to the printing industry—but possesses a free-flowing nature and a quest for knowledge.
When the United States Department of Defense (US DOD) needs to get a message out to a foreign audience to support its soldiers in the field, it has to act quickly. For this reason, the US DOD maintains a fleet of Kodak NexPress digital presses, along with a contingent of bindery equipment, in several locations around the world. In addition, it is building deployable units, to be stationed where they are most needed.
