More than 2,000 enthusiastic HP users packed the auditorium at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville, TN last month for the opening of the eighth annual Dscoop conference. The three-day meeting included scores of educational sessions geared toward HP users, as well as an exhibit area with nearly 100 partners showing equipment and software designed to work with HP equipment.

After a welcome from Dscoop officials (all sporting bad toupees with ponytails), a bluegrass band gave an appropriate Tennessee greeting by getting the crowd to sing along to Rocky Top, a state anthem. Then keynote speaker Mark King, CEO of TaylorMade gave an uplifting and humorous talk that detailed how he and his team developed a vision to become the best performance golf brand in the world, then followed through with it.

As part of its PAPERbecause campaign, Domtar Corp. will be debuting four new videos highlighting the irreplaceable value of paper with a humorous approach. The 30-second spots mark the third wave of videos in the campaign that showcases the effectiveness and sustainability of paper.
The Unisource Chicago Paper Show—an exclusive, invitation-only event—attracts approximately 1,000 of the leading designers and commercial printers from around the Chicago area. It will be held on Nov. 5, 2012, at the historic Hilton Chicago Hotel, in downtown Chicago.
The Paper Trail website offers personalized reports that measure Domtar products across five categories: water usage, the distance its fiber travels to a paper mill, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, waste send to landfills and renewable energy usage.
Domtar Corp. is extending its “PAPERbecause” campaign with a series of new print ads that show why paper still plays a vital role in everything from today’s business meetings to educating tomorrow’s business leaders. The print ads will start running in January in leading paper, graphic design and printing trade publications.
Domtar says that by July 1 it will permanently shut down one of four paper machines at its Ashdown, Ark. pulp and paper mill. This will reduce Domtar's annual uncoated freesheet paper production capacity by approximately 125,000 short tons. The mill's workforce will be reduced by approximately 110 employees.

To highlight the importance of paper in our lives, Domtar is launching its "Paper Because" campaign on Monday. Advertisements will appear in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Globe & Mail, Fast Company, Audubon, National Geographic and other consumer and trade publications. The campaign will also feature online banner ads and a series of short videos.
