In today’s world of school budget cuts and “teaching to the test,” programs like Canon Solutions America’s Future Authors Project has given students who love to write a unique chance to flourish.
Canon Solutions America recently held a second anniversary press and analyst meeting in Florida, marking two years that the former Océ has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A. The event gave Canon Solutions America executives the opportunity to provide an update on its new midrange cutsheet color inkjet press—the Océ VarioPrint i300—which will be commercially available later this summer and is currently shipping to the first customer installation sites.
Canon Solutions America's latest wide-format presses are on display at the ISA International Sign Expo 2015 in Las Vegas. The presses on display include the Océ Arizona 6100 Series flatbed UV printer models, and the Océ ColorWave 700 and ColorWave 900 printers.
Canon Solutions America's East Coast Inkjet Insider Summit was highlighted by a tour of Data-Mail, a full-service direct mail printing and lettershop facility in Newington, CT.
“Just being in the room when decisions are being made, a lot of times, is the biggest challenge” for in-plants, declares Chuck Werninger, director of Administrative Services at the Houston Independent School District (HISD). “A lot of shops are deleted from the plan before they ever hear about the plan.”
Three Océ Arizona series printer models from Canon Solutions America received Product of the Year Awards from the Specialty Graphic & Imaging Association (SGIA): the Océ Arizona 318 GL, UV Flatbed; the Océ Arizona 318 GL, UV Flatbed Plus White; and the Océ Arizona 6170 XTS, UV Flatbed Plus White. The award is based on a comparison of outputs from competing devices using a common test file designed by SGIA.
Canon Solutions America's first customer Solutions Advisory Council meeting held in the Canon Americas Headquarters in Melville, NY, brought together Canon Solutions America customers, industry leaders, and Canon technology experts to share innovative ideas and discuss best practices.
This year's SGIA Product of the Year competition was held at the 2014 Expo in Las Vegas, October 22-24. The contest showcased the best printers, technologies and consumables from the specialty imaging community. "Whether they were a seasoned company or an industry newcomer, each and every entry came to win," said Ray Weiss, SGIA’s digital imaging specialist.
A new comprehensive resource for agency and in-house designers looking to optimize their work for high-speed, production inkjet technologies, has been released by Canon Solutions America. The "Designers’ Guide to Inkjet," consists of guiding principles, best practices, and real-world recommendations related to the exciting world of inkjet.
A new Website has been launched by Canon Solutions America, a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., to advance the company’s digital outreach, and bring together all of the business units and shared services of the company, providing a consistent Web presence and enhanced customer experience.
