After a relatively calm start to the year, April took off with a bang when two of the busiest events — the Inkjet Summit and the Association of College and University Printers conference — took place in the same week, forcing me to race from one to the other. It was not easy.

This year’s IPMA Educational Conference includes 19 breakout sessions on topics in management, equipment platforms, technology and more. There will also be a vendor showroom and industry roundtables so managers can share solutions and ideas with peers.

“PRINTING United will give our members the chance to explore adjacent printing technologies and expand their businesses or product lines accordingly,” says Mike Loyd, IPMA Executive Director. In addition to exhibiting, IPMA will present an educational session on Next Generation Tactics and Strategies for In-plants.

The annual In-plant Printing and Mailing Association conference is approaching. In this interview, IPMA President Sherri Isbell explains how IPMA can help you stay ahead of the many challenges you face as an in-plant manager by connecting with colleagues at the conference, sharing best practices and learning about trends that will impact your in-plant.

The 20th annual conference featured nearly 200 educational sessions, many new product demos and peer-to-peer networking opportunities.

This week in San Luis Obispo, Calif., Cal Poly’s Graphic Communication Department will celebrate International Graphic Communication Week, an event the school has celebrated annually since 1984. It will include a lecture series, a banquet and a career fair.

In-plant printing leaders from around the country met in Daytona Beach, Fla., for the annual Southeastern University Printing & Digital Managers Conference.

The Texas Association Of College And University Printers (TACUP) met recently in Corpus Christi, Texas, along with the Southwest Association of College & University Mail Services (SWACUMS). More than 35 in-plant print and mail managers attended the event.

The competitors tried to wrap the side of the Mustang in the time allotted and were judged on the quality of their install.
