Ricoh Americas Corp. has established a new Production Printing Business Group (PPBG) to specifically focus on the unique, customer driven requirements of data center, in-plant and graphic arts environments. Graph Expo Seen as a Success, Recap Coming

CHICAGO—More aggressive promotion to in-plants was part of the plan the sponsors of Graph Expo implemented to build traffic at the 2007 show. It’s still not known if that part of the effort paid off, but the Graphic Arts Show Co. (GASC) is projecting that overall attendance was up. While cautioning that official attendance figures are still pending, GASC Vice President Chris Price believes attendance was up slightly over last year. Milwaukee College Gets Xerox Overhaul

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) plans to overhaul its document management systems with an array of new Xerox equipment. Not only will the 56,000-student school replace laser printers, stand-alone copiers and fax machines on its four campuses with 160 new multifuction devices, it will upgrade the digital printers in its 13-employee Printing Services department. The in-plant will swap its older Xerox DocuTech 6135 for a new model with Xerox FreeFlow MakeReady software, which will allow the shop to more easily provide variable data printing of recruitment materials. Better Buys for Business, an independent authority of office imaging equipment, has selected 27 digital printing devices as recipients of its Editor’s Choice awards.
