Ricoh Americas Corp. has introduced the Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts + and Ricoh Pro C901s Graphic Arts + series of printers for high-volume production print environments. The printers are the latest additions in the brand’s digital color production system lineup.
Cedar Graphics, located just north of Cedar Rapids, IA, developed a cross-media campaign that successfully engaged its customers and prospects. HP's new ColorPRO branded papers, introduced today at the Hunkeler Innovationdays in Lucerne, Switzerland, are optimized for use on HP Inkjet Web Presses and do not require the use of a bonding agent. The new offerings include a SAPPI Jaz Book Paper and a new relationship with Crown Van Gelder (CVG).
Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA) demonstrated the new RotaJET 76 inkjet web press at the Hunkeler Innovationdays show in Lucerne, Switzerland. For its entry into the digital print market, KBA will at first be focussing on the target segments books, direct mailing, manuals, advertising, newsletters and newspapers.
Today at Hunkeler Innovationdays in Lucerne, Switzerland, Xerox Corp. introduced the CiPress 500 and 325 Single Engine Duplex (SED) Production Inkjet Systems. Designed with customers who print at lower volumes in mind, the CiPress SED is a single engine configuration that offers many of the same features as Xerox’s twin engine inkjet devices, including print speeds of 500 or 325 feet-per-minute.

The device combines the field-proven performance of the Prosper press platform with new press management technology that constantly monitors and adjusts settings to ensure the highest quality output.
Xerox digital front ends (DFEs), powered by Fiery, are now available for the Xerox Color J75 and C75 presses. What is striking about the round of installations this year over last, we are hearing about far fewer installation problems and challenges with substrates. We are hearing more about the costs and need to expand post-processing capabilities rather than installation or performance of the presses themselves. Business cases are still strong but, unlike the earliest adopters, those needs were not as acute, so they had the luxury of hanging back and biding their time until that time was right.
