The Océ VarioPrint 6330 TITAN, Canon’s next generation monochrome digital press, will be on display at PRINT 17 in Chicago.

When these vendors say they support in-plants, they don’t just mean they sell them digital printing equipment. They run in-plants of their own, which gives them an intimate understanding of the struggles in-plants face and the benefits they provide.

PRINT 17 is almost here. In-plants are excited to get back to Chicago this year for the show. We asked them which technologies they plan to check out.

The award ceremony at June’s In-plant Printing and Mailing Association conference was a pretty big deal for Bloomberg Ink. Not only did Bloomberg’s in-house print and fulfillment business win the coveted In-Print 2017 Best of Show award, the operation was also honored as IPMA’s 2017 Print Center of the Year.

Sometimes I forget there are in-plants right in my backyard here in Philadelphia. So Monday I decided to walk across the street to visit the closest in-plant to my office: the Community College of Philadelphia.

Though its Kodak NexPress ZX3300 digital color press has been up and running since January, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center’s in-plant took its time rolling it out to customers. With new features like Kodak Dimensional printing along with gold, white and clear dry ink, the shop wanted to make sure it had mastered these processes and worked out all the kinks.

PRINT 17 is being touted as "an entirely new experience" more focused on community building. In-plants can expect to come home with business-building ideas and new opportunities.

EFI has donated a Fiery digital front end (DFE) that will be used in conjunction with a Xerox Color 1000i Press donated by Xerox.
