The Christian Broadcasting Network has served as the benchmark for religious programming for over 50 years. Founded by televangelist Pat Robertson in 1961, the Virginia Beach, Va.-based organization is well known for The 700 Club, an iconic popular live TV program. It also runs the 24-hour CBN News outlet and Superbook, a children's ministry segment that involves animation to tell stories from the Bible.
Spiel Associates demonstrated a wide range of bindery and finishing equipment at an open house it hosted at its Long Island City, N.Y., facility. On display was a full line of Graphic Whizard creasers, UV Coaters, the new SCC slitter, cutter, creaser and folders.
With traditional offset exhibitors like Heidelberg giving the Chicago trade show a pass, the digital print vendors were the new kings. Xerox, Canon, Konica Minolta and Fujifilm led the pack in booth size, and each of them had new inkjet production presses to proclaim.

Tech-ni-Fold has prevented a third U.S. company from continuing to sell a device that Tech-ni-Fold believes infringes upon its Tri-Creaser patents. As a result, Rosback Co. of St. Joseph, MI, will be discontinuing the current design of its TrueScore-Pro and TrueScore-Pro Quad products.
At the Duplo USA Digital Finishing Expo at the Sam Houston Race Park in Houston on Wednesday, July 24, visitors will have the opportunity to see the latest in on demand print finishing, including bookletmaking, slitting/cutting/creasing, folding, UV coating, perfect binding and diecutting.
“A business card is very personal. It’s representative of the individual,” explains Michael Schaefer, Print Center director at Methodist Healthcare System. “So I tell the employees, ‘You may think it’s just a card, but that’s got their name on it.’”

The event brings together both digital and offset finishing solutions including, Rollem’s slitting, scoring, and perforating systems, integrated with industry partners to create highly efficient system configurations.
A new video series has been introduced by Duplo USA called “How Do You Use Your Duplo?” The series profiles in-plant and commercial print providers throughout the country and their finishing process using Duplo solutions. Customers provide a brief tour of their operation and discuss the products they offer and how their Duplo equipment has contributed to their business.
