Leadership Workshop Draws 30 In-plant Managers
Xerox held another of its Thought Leadership Workshops in Rochester recently, this one dedicated to in-plants serving the public sector. About 30 in-plant managers attended, from organizations like Mississippi Department of Health, Syracuse University, Hobart & Smith College, University of Arkansas, Eagle County School District, Bank of Canada and others.
“It was a great opportunity,” remarks Joyce Mahaffey, who represented Appalachian State University at the workshop. Not only was it educational, she says, but Xerox officials listened as managers described the major issues that they are facing.
The workshop featured several speakers. Peter Muir, from Bizucate, discussed the importance of marketing the in-plant and how developing a marketing plan can help an in-plant reach new levels of customer acceptance. Then Ken Macro, from Cal Poly, discussed how to achieve operational excellence by utilizing Lean Print Manufacturing techniques. Attendees also toured the Gil Hatch Center to see some of the latest Xerox technologies.
“The presentations were very relevant for our industry and these difficult economic times,” Mahaffey says.
