Winners Picked in In-Print 2021 Contest
On Monday, Sept. 13, judges gathered at In-plant Printing and Mailing Association headquarters to judge the In-Print 2021 contest, the only printing contest exclusively for in-plants. They poured over all 214 entries (about half the usual number due to COVID) to select 29 Gold award winners, plus other Silver and Bronze winners. The winners’ list is being tabulated and checked, and will be published soon.
Judges also picked Best of Show winners out of all the Gold-winning offset and non-offset pieces. These winners will be revealed (along with the 2020 Best of Show winners) at the 2022 IPMA conference in Buffalo, N.Y.
Despite having fewer entries, judging was as difficult as ever, with so many excellent and creative printed pieces. IPMA Awards Chair Christopher Donlon noted that the new COVID-19 graphics category was the hardest one to judge. Judges had to consider the process used, the creativity of the piece, and how challenging it was for the in-plant to produce.
Winners will be announced soon.
