Watch the Judges Pick the Best of Show Winners
At an award ceremony during the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) conference in Pittsburgh this week, winners of the In-Print 2017 contest were honored. All Gold award winners were called to the stage to receive their awards during an award banquet that drew about 200 people.
And then the real excitement began. Each year two Best of Show winners are announced — one each for the offset and non-offset categories. Those winners were selected by contest judges back in March and kept secret until the ceremony.
To reveal who those winners were, IPG Editor Bob Neubauer shot a video of the judges picking the two Best of Show winners, then edited it and added commentary. The result is a pair of very suspenseful videos in which the judges slowly whittle down the contenders until finally taking a vote and picking the victor. Watch them below.
Incidentally, conference attendees didn't agree with the judges. In a tally taken during the reception, during which attendees got to see all of the Gold winning pieces and vote for their favorite, a booklet from Liberty University was crowned the victor and received the audience choice award.
