Senate Bill 5931, which passed on the last day of the legislative session, authorizes the creation of the DES. It also makes it easier for agencies to go directly to private print shops with major jobs. This major government restructuring is expected to save $18 million for the state.
The state's in-plant, which was recently named IPMA's 2011 Management Award winner, faces some difficult changes ahead.
