Winning 13 In-Print 2010 awards—plus the Best of Show—was a tremendous honor for the Printing Services staff at the University of Oklahoma. To show its gratitude to the customers that ordered those award-winning pieces, the in-plant recently held an awards presentation, during which it presented those customers with duplicate In-Print awards. About 100 people attended.
“Our customers are the focal point of our mission; if they’re successful, so are we,” observes Sherri Isbell, assistant administrator of University Printing Services. “One of the biggest joys I get is presenting a duplicate plaque to them after their print job has won a major award. We love for them to be excited and share our wins.”
Administrator John Sarantakos made a presentation thanking customers for their business, and showed slides of each winning piece. Refreshments were served and attendees received T-shirts and Printing Services mugs (with a Best of Show logo on them). On the wall was a poster of IPG’s July cover, which featured OU.
Part of the presentation described the in-plant’s burgeoning use of quick response (QR) codes in marketing materials and how they can benefit university departments. Attendees received an in-plant business card with a QR code directing them to the shop’s Web site, as well as another card with a coupon that they could scan to find out which prize they had won.
