A program in Lincoln, Neb., that honors local organizations for their marketing success has selected University of Nebraska-Lincoln Print, Copy, Mail & Distribution Services for its 2017 Best of Lincoln Award.
"I can honestly say we were not even expecting it," says Director John Yerger. "We are very honored to be recognized by members of our community for our efforts to provide quality printing, mail and service, but more importantly being known as a viable good neighbor of the community."
The Lincoln Award Program seeks to recognize local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and to the community. Recognition goes to organizations that have implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value.
Yerger points to efforts by the in-plant to reach out to other state agencies to share how Print, Copy, Mail & Distribution Services might be able to help them. After getting contact names from existing clients and state directories, CSRs made phone calls and followed up with a mailing detailing the in-plant's services.
"We were able to more than double our ‘other state’ agency volume within three months of executing," says Yerger. "This year we hope to follow up with some actual visits to other agencies as well as offering tours."
In-plant staff participates on the local postal board, he adds, and vendors are always treated as partners. This apparently impressed the Lincoln Award Program.
"Upper management was very pleased, and within a day arranged to come by and share their congratulations to our staff for a job well done," Yerger says. "We believe that the campus community will be just as pleased and supportive as we share this news and continue to build good will and a partnering team."
