Two Public Printers to Speak at Forum for In-plants
In-plant managers at government agencies and higher-ed institutions now have another reason to attend the INTERQUEST Digital Printing in Government and Higher Education Forum in Washington, D.C. 12 days from today. Both the current and previous U.S. Public Printers will be speakers at the event.
William J. Boarman, current Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Government Printing Office, will present the keynote address, providing an update on GPO's transformation into a 21st century information organization. And later in the day, his predecessor, Robert C. Tapella, will give a presentation discussing digital printing opportunities in government, along with key challenges faced by government printers.
The event, now in its sixth year, will also feature a number of in-plant managers, speaking about how they are leveraging new digital printing technology to improve productivity, reduce costs and enhance documents.
On the docket are:
- Leslie Rutledge, director of Graphic Services at Brown University, and the subject of the November cover story in IPG.
- Shawn P. Magill, director of Strategy & Development at the Defense Logistics Agency's Document Services Headquarters.
- Jane Bloodworth, former manager of the World Bank’s Printing, Graphics and Map Design Unit.
Several other speakers are pending.
INTERQUEST is a market and technology research and consulting firm that focuses on digital printing and publishing. At the forum, Gilles Biscos, president of INTERQUEST, and Toby Cobrin, a director there, will each discuss results from INTERQUEST research, analyzing key trends in the publishing, print-on-demand, transactional and graphic arts markets. Biscos will explore recent technological and market developments, discuss the impact of the latest vendor announcements, and examine future changes.
In addition to all of this, leading printing systems vendors like Kodak, HP and Xerox will present their companies' strategies and solutions for the government and the higher-education markets.
