If you clicked on this link, you must have read the trivia question in our March issue. But if not, or if you just want a reminder, here was the question:
Which of these associations once held its annual conference in Fairbanks, Alaska?
• In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA)
• International Association of Printing House Craftsmen (IAPHC)
• Association of College and University Printers (ACUP)
• National Government Publishing Association (NGPA)
• Xplor International
It may surprise you to learn that TWO of those associations have convened their meetings in the 49th state. But when IAPHC brought its group up there, it was on a cruise ship, which never made it any farther north than Anchorage (for obvious geographic reasons).
The correct answer is: The Association of College and University Printers (ACUP).
Only a couple dozen hearty souls made the trek to the Land of the Midnight Sun for that event back in 1996. But it was well worth the long plane ride.
Those interested in ACUP but afraid of the cold will be elated to learn that ACUP will be taking place as far from Alaska as it can get this year. It will be in Clearwater Beach, Florida, May 4-8. http://printing.fsu.edu/ACUP/index.html
