One way to gauge the direction of the in-plant industry is to look at trends affecting the largest in-plants. We’ve done exactly that, and the results are included in a new report highlighting the country’s largest in-plants.
Beyond just ranking these giants, we explored how their sales have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and whether they have had to cut staff. We asked them if the pandemic has forced them to adjust their rates and how they predict the next six months will play out.
We also looked at whether COVID-19 has altered their plans to buy, lease, or upgrade equipment and software in 2021. Despite current economic conditions, 61% of them still intend to add technology this year. Though this sounds impressive, consider that in our 2019 survey of the largest in-plants, a more robust 90% said they would upgrade equipment and software in 2020.
Our report lists the top technologies they plan to add this year, illustrating which equipment and software remain most crucial even in times of tight budgets. See the full results of our research as part of our report ranking the largest in-plants in the country.
