Did you know that the Top 25 "Hot Market" sectors/categories represent almost all of the print demand in the U.S. and Canada? And, as a print services provider (PSP), are you targeting those vertical industries for new sales opportunities, product line extensions and business planning?
Veteran printing industry forecaster and pundit Vince Mallardi recently published his “Hot Markets for Print Demand 2019-20” report, which includes proprietary analysis of historical and projected patterns among principal purchasers of printing in the United States and Canada. For PSPs, the study provides a key roadmap of the market verticals where they should — and should not be — directing their sales efforts based on Mallardi’s print buying trends and expert forecasts.
The full research report marks Mallardi’s 39th annual Hot Markets edition. Printing Impressions has once again published an executive summary of his overview forecast about the Top 25 sectors/categories, including insightful expert commentary about the specific types of printed products that will be in high demand for several of these Top 25 segments. The executive summary also includes an easy-to-view chart that shows key data and printing trends for the Top 25 ranked demand sector/categories. (Click here to download the free PDF.)
Here are just a few of Mallardi's key findings:
- The Top 25 Hot Markets for 2019-20 represent nearly 95% of all print purchased. Among them, the Top 5, ranked in corresponding order by print demand, include Packaged Foods, Medical/Pharmaceuticals, Publishing/Non-Newspaper, Health Providers and Beverages.
- According to the latest Hot Markets report, the fastest-growing sectors/categories percentage-wise from the standpoint of print demand include Publishing/Non-Newspaper, Logistics/Freight and Medical/Pharmaceutical. On the flip side, the sectors showing the most print demand decline, percentage-wise, are Computer Ware, Investment/Brokerage and Societal Activity.
- The so-called Durables sector is seeing a decline in print demand. In addition, missing from the Top 25 for print demand are Electronics/Non-Telecom and Energy.
