Inkjet technology definitely strikes a chord with in-plants. Two of the five most-read articles on IPG's site last month were about production inkjet press installations at in-plants. With so much coverage of the technology over the past couple years, it's no surprise that in-plants want to learn as much as they can, especially those that are ready to upgrade their digital presses, or replace their old offset presses.
Here are the IPG stories that got the most views during the month of October.
- Inkjet Takes the Floor at Shaw: The first in-plant to install Konica Minolta's KM-1 cut-sheet inkjet press, Shaw Industries, a well known carpet and flooring manufacturer, is excited about the new applications it will be able to print using inkjet technology.
- State of Colorado Adopts Managed Print Services Program: Managing the parent organization's fleet of MFDs and printers is always a big win for an in-plant, since it greatly enhances the shop's value. The State of Colorado's Integrated Document Solutions operation was able to pull this off.
- Three Days in New Orleans…And a Stunning Announcement: The announcement was the creation of a brand new trade show that will pull together all technologies of interest to in-plants and other printers. And IPG is smack in the middle of creating this new event.
- Inkjet Lets Pekin Insurance Add Four-Color to Statements: Yet another in-plant has installed a cut-sheet inkjet press. This story details how an Illinois insurance company has enhanced its mailings and cut costs thanks to inkjet.
- OU Puts Specialty Services on the Everyday Menu: It's a message we've been harping on for ages: In-plants prosper when the value they offer extends beyond print. The University of Oklahoma has proven this by adding numerous new services — all of which can be implemented by any in-plant.
