100 Color Pages Per Minute
Fresh from its debut at Canon Expo, the new Canon U.S.A. imagePRESS C10000VP was at Graph Expo as well. Printing 100 letter images per minute on media weights up to 350 gsm, it supports a monthly duty cycle of up to 1.5 million letter images. The C10000VP boasts a new toner with a smoother surface to enable finer reproduction and minimize scratching. The press can output 2,400×2,400-dpi resolutions, and offers real-time, automatic color control and adjustments, as well as accurate calibration using new in-line spectrophotometric sensors. Gloss Optimization technology helps match gloss levels of the printed image to the substrate it is printed on. —www.usa.canon.com
Xerox Launches iGen 5
The new iGen 5 digital production color press was front and center at the Xerox booth at Graph Expo. Available with speeds of 150 ppm, 120 ppm and 90 ppm, the iGen 5 handles a 26˝ sheet size to enable more jobs, such as six-panel brochures, gatefold pamphlets and pocket folders. An optional fifth color unit increases the ability to match a larger gamut of Pantone colors or unknown spot colors. The iGen 5 offers 2,400×2,400 dpi imaging with gloss or matte dry ink options. Recommended average monthly volume on the digital press ranges from 200,000 to 3,750,000 pages per month. —www.xerox.com/printing
