Comparing the sales-per-employee figures of various in-plants is one way to see which operations have the most productive staffs — and the shops with the most employees are not always the most productive by this measure.
We have traditionally created this ranking using only the data we collected on the largest in-plants in the country. This is the list we are presenting right now. Click here to view it.
We realize, however, that this list is very limited, since it only includes the largest in-plants. Many operations with smaller staff sizes are exceedingly productive and might rank very high on a sales-per-employee ranking. A more fair (and more useful) way to do it would be to give every in-plant an opportunity to participate in this ranking.
So we're opening this up to all of you. Use this form to send us your in-plant's annual sales numbers (not including postage) and number of employees. (If you're already on our list of the largest in-plants, please don't submit your info again.)
Once we get a good number of responses, we will recalculate this list and publish it again. Then we shall truly see if some of the country's smaller in-plants can outshine their larger cousins. Click here for the survey. And check out our current ranking of in-plants by sales per employee here.
