Bucknell Adds 'Green' CTP, Joins Communications Team
“One key issue was that it’s completely chemical free,” reports Lisa Hoover, associate director. No longer does the in-plant have to dispose of hazardous chemicals; the compact CTP unit gives plates a water wash and discharges them ready for use on the shop’s Heidelberg QM46.
“It’s been working really great,” continues Hoover, who is on deck to replace Director Jim Muchler when he retires in February. “We’ve seen a definite increase in quality.” And by switching poly plates for metal, the plate stretch problem has been eliminated too, she enthuses.
