In-plants Are In at Graph Expo
Everybody’s courting in-plants these days. Recognizing that in-plants are expanding, several vendors have started gearing their marketing efforts directly towards in-house printers.
Likewise, the Graphic Arts Show Co., organizer of Graph Expo, is focusing strongly on the in-plant market this year.
“Now, more than ever, corporations are looking to their in-plant printer to provide more than just a print job—they need a marketing partner who can offer value-added communications pieces,” declares Ralph Nappi, GASC president.
To show its support of in-plants, GASC is hosting a morning session specifically for in-plants, titled “The Future of Digital Through the Eyes of an In-plant Printer.” Both IPG’s Bob Neubauer and Debbie Pavletich, president of the In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) will be facilitating the pre-show session, which will include breakfast.
A panel of in-plant managers will speak about their experiences with digital printing, including equipment justification and how to market their digital capabilities to customers. The session will take place Tuesday, October 28, 8:30-10:00, and is open to all in-plants at no charge.
What’s more, to welcome in-plants into the IPMA community, IPMA is offering a free show floor pass to any in-plant (member or non-member) that registers to attend the session. Visit www.ipma.org to find a link where in-plants can register for both the session and the show.
A further sign of GASC’s interest in in-plant lies in a recent press release that emphasizes how the Graph Expo Seminar Program can help in-plants add value to their customers’ projects. Though these 70+ educational sessions are open to all printers, the press release focuses on what in-plants will gain from attending sessions on personalized printing, transpromo, color management, selling to corporate customers, justifying equipment purchases, streamlining workflow and the pitfalls of Web-to-print services.
