Today in Las Vegas, hundreds of in-plant managers joined thousands of other print providers in the Las Vegas Convention Center for the opening day of PRINTING United Expo 2024. With more than 800 exhibitors spanning more than a million square feet of exhibition space, the show will offer attendees a glimpse into the future of print.
At 10:00 PST today, NAPCO Research and PRINTING United Alliance will take the stage in the session "Harnessing Business Investment to Drive Profitability and Competitive Advantage." Nathan Safran, vice president, Research, and Lisa Cross, principal analyst, both of NAPCO Research, and Andy Paparozzi, chief economist for PRINTING United Alliance, will discuss the state of the industry and provide an economic outlook for the coming months.
At noon PST, more than 60 in-plants will meet for a free luncheon hosted by In-plant Impressions and sponsored by Ricoh to network and learn how they can better utilize artificial intelligence to improve and enhance their shops. Tomorrow, the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association will host a breakfast session for in-plants, giving them further networking opportunities. A happy hour at the end of that day will allow even more mingling and give managers a chance to talk about the technologies they saw on the show floor.
Among the highly anticipated equipment debuts at the show will be Canon’s varioPRINT iX1700 inkjet press and the revolutionary “digital metal” offering from Xeikon and KURZ USA, which is poised to transform the world of metallic embellishments. Duplo and Standard Finishing will also debut several pieces of bindery equipment. Plus the show will feature an endless array of new wide-format printers and cutters, sure to attract the attention of visiting in-plants. Bob has served as editor of In-plant Impressions since October of 1994. Prior to that he served for three years as managing editor of Printing Impressions, a commercial printing publication. Mr. Neubauer is very active in the U.S. in-plant industry. He attends all the major in-plant conferences and has visited more than 180 in-plant operations around the world. He has given presentations to numerous in-plant groups in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including the Association of College and University Printers and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association. He also coordinates the annual In-Print contest, co-sponsored by IPMA and In-plant Impressions.
