In-plant managers from all over the country are packing their bags right now for the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association’s “Splash of Color” conference, taking place at the Caribe Royale in Orlando. After several roundtables and users groups on Sunday afternoon, the conference will start in earnest with a reception Sunday evening at Universal City Walk that will bring together the expected 100 or so in-plant managers in attendance.
Then on Monday morning, keynote speaker and "motivational humorist" Patrick Henry will wake everyone up with his presentation titled “Creating ‘Remember-able’ Customer Service.” The rest of that day, and the following two, will be filled with educational sessions, roundtables and keynote presentations designed to ensure attendees come away with new ideas to help transform their in-plants.
Attendees will be excited to use the new interactive IPMA mobile app during the conference. It will let them to preview sessions and speakers, create a schedule, earn points by checking in at sessions/events/exhibitor booths, connect with other attendees and get information on social events. Another big change this year will be the timing of the awards banquet, which will take place on the first full day of the event. The winners of the In-Print awards will be honored, and the Best of Show winners will be revealed. New this year, attendees will get the chance to vote for an “attendees’ choice” award.
Among the many sessions this year, IPG Editor Bob Neubauer will be conducting a panel discussion on production inkjet printing, a growing technology sure to impact in-plants in the next couple years. Three in-plants that have already installed inkjet presses (World Bank, Excellus BlueCross and the State of Colorado) will take part in this informative discussion, on Tuesday morning, at 10:45.
