Web-to-print Helping In-plants Thrive
These days, Web-to-print technology is a necessity for in-plants. According to a new IPG survey, 61.5 percent of in-plants now have an online ordering system, with another 14.7 percent planning to buy one in 2014. In addition to allowing them to accept online orders, these systems are helping in-plants better control total print spending, ensure brand integrity and drive operational success.
Yet many in-plants are struggling to maximize the benefits of Web-to-print. To help them, IPG is presenting a webinar, sponsored by Rochester Software Associates, on Tuesday, February 11, at 2:00 pm ET/11:00 am PT. It will showcase the experiences of two in-plants endeavoring to reap benefits from Web-to-print.
Tawsha Worrall, manager of Print Center Services at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) will share how her operation has achieved success with Web-to-print software in the last seven years. Today, the in-plant receives over 10 million monthly impressions from 5,000 active users of its Web-to-print system. She will discuss the steps taken to achieve solid operational success and benefits of using Web-to-print, and what is next.
Then Penn State’s Abbas Badani, director of the Multimedia & Print Center, will discuss his shop's plans to attain Web-to-print success and share lessons learned from a past unsuccessful Web-to-print implementation. His in-plant has a staff of 50 and produces more than 11 million monthly impressions.
InfoTrends’ Group Director, Charlie Corr will moderate the webinar, citing research about in-plant Web-to-print adoption and how it can act as a cornerstone for a vibrant print center. This is the first of two webinars that will highlight the experiences of in-plant operations using Web-to-print technology to steer operational success.
