In-plants at non-profits play an especially crucial role for their organizations: they reduce the cost of printing, allowing the non-profit to put those savings to use to fulfill its mission. Our recent survey of in-plants at non-profit organizations brought in 37 responses. Among the data we turned up:
- 91 percent charge back for their services.
- 74 percent compare charges with outside printers.
- 54 percent insource printing.
- 47 percent market their in-plant.
- 44 percent expanded their shops in the past two years.
- 35 percent provide training opportunities to employees.
- 35 percent have added new services in the past year.
- 26 percent have the right of first refusal.
