In September, in-plant managers filled a conference room at Graph Expo to learn more about benchmarking from consultant Howie Fenton. This Tuesday, Fenton will again speak on that topic, but managers won't need to fly to Chicago to hear him.
An exclusive IPG webinar (Tuesday, December 16, at 2:00 pm EST) will tackle the important topic of benchmarking and how it can help strengthen an in-plant and secure its future. Fenton, in his first webinar since joining InfoTrends, will discuss some of the key performance indicators in-plants should measure when they benchmark their performance against industry leaders, such as sales per employee.
Joining him in the webinar will be Alvin Griffin, director of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools' Graphic Production Center, and incoming IPMA president. He will review how his in-plant used a free online benchmarking tool to identify several areas where his shop ranked below the national average. Then he will explain the steps he subsequently took to improve his operation, thanks to his benchmarking efforts.
In-plant managers who participate in Tuesday's webinar will learn:
- How to measure an in-plant's performance against industry leaders.
- The most important areas to benchmark, and the most crucial data to collect.
- How to compile pertinent, measurable customer satisfaction data and make a strong case for an in-plant’s intangible benefits.
