SGIA Expo Breaks Records on Opening Day
Today is the third and final day of the 2014 SGIA Expo in Las Vegas. The "specialty imaging" show got off to a great start Wednesday, with attendees lining up in the Las Vegas Convention Center to get on the trade show floor.
More than 22,000 registered attendees and 541 exhibitors—a new record—are filling the convention hall to discover the newest devices and technologies on the market, as well as witness the latest products in action. The show focuses on digital imaging, screen printing and the many other imaging technologies used to produce point-of-purchase displays, printed electronics, membrane switches, signs, garments, and vehicle wraps.
Among the products on display:
- EFI's portfolio included the 3.2-meter, high-volume EFI VUTEk HS100 Pro UV inkjet press, featuring automated material loading and unloading systems, and a new material edge guide system for printing corrugated board. The new EFI VUTEk H2000 Pro UV inkjet printer was also on display, along with many other products.
- In its debut appearance at SGIA, Ricoh brought the Ricoh Pro L4160, a seven-color wide-format printer able to print on a wide range of substrates.
- Roland DGA has introduced the VersaUV LEJ-640FT UV-LED flatbed printer, capable of printing on substrates up to 6˝ thick and weighing as much as 220 pounds.
- Agfa Graphics launched the new Anapurna M2500i, a 98˝ wide, six-color plus white UV-inkjet printing system with optional automated board feeder.
- Mutoh launched a new printer and software package which included a Caldera Mutoh Special Edition RIP solution.
- Colter & Peterson highlighted its Saber line of heavy-duty paper cutters, supported by the Microcut automated back gauge control system.
The winners of the Golden Image and Product of the Year competitions have been announced and are proudly displayed in the Golden Image Gallery. Visitors are enjoying the sales-free interactive Zones for free educational sessions and hands-on demonstrations.
