Attendance was way up for last week's SGIA Expo, which drew well over 21,000 imaging professionals to the Las Vegas Convention Center. Almost 40 percent of them were first-time attendees.
Nearly 490 suppliers demonstrated the newest advancements in high-production digital and screen print devices for attendees looking to produce point-of-purchase displays, printed electronics, signs, advertisements, garments, containers, vehicles and more.
The Expo also offered more than 25 focused educational sessions highlighting new markets and showing attendees how to apply innovative sales and production strategies into their businesses.
Best-selling author of the popular Guerrilla Marketing series, Orvel Ray Wilson, opened the conference with his presentation "Guerilla Selling: Seven Strategies to Double Your Business." In his standing-room-only session, Wilson discussed why it's better to be different than to be the best and simple ways to get above-average performance from every member of a sales team.
Wilson returned to present at Thursday's keynote breakfast. He engaged the audience with a thought-provoking presentation about how to expand value to sell at high prices. Attendees came away with critical strategies about what to say when customers ask for discounts and 31 reasons why customers will gladly pay more for their product.
“Success will go to businesses that take care of their past and current customers,” Wilson said. “It costs five times as much to find a new customer as it does to make the same sale to a current customer. In the rush to cut costs, many businesses forget that they have created an established set of expectations among their customer base.”
