Selecting A Flatbed Scanner

Nearly all scanners in this price range now handle reflective and film originals, and have optical resolutions of 1,200, some going as high as 2,000 or 2,400 ppi, with impressively higher interpolated resolutions. Examples representing this category are Agfa's DuoScan 1200 ($700), Hewlett-Packard's ScanJet 4c ($900), Heidelberg's Linoscan 1400 ($1300) and Microtek's ScanMaker III ($1,500).
