In a similar fashion large "interpolated" resolutions—such as 7,200 ppi on the entry-level LinoScan 1200 , or 9,200 ppi on the PowerLook III ($1800)—can make it seem as though a $1,200 or an $1,800 scanner is more or less equivalent to a $15,000 or even a $50,000 scanner.
