Yesterday in Salt Lake City, the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) held its second Road Show event of the year at Intermountain Health’s brand new Design & Print Center facility. The event drew in-plant attendees from all around the Utah state capital.
Ricoh's Debbie Pavletich led off the event with a presentation on trends and in-plant Innovation in the marketplace. This was followed by a “Power Hour” during which in-plant managers had time to talk with one another about their daily challenges and offer each other advice. They also had a chance to visit the booths set up by exhibitors and talk with them about the solutions they provide.
After lunch, the in-plant team, led by Tami Reese, told attendees about the in-plant’s journey from its former 8,000-sq.-ft. space, located inside Intermountain’s supply chain center, to the current 20,000 sq. ft. facility with loading docks, 30ˈ-high ceilings, and a new Ricoh Pro VC60000 roll-fed inkjet press.
Attendees got to see the new inkjet press for themselves on a plant tour. The shop also runs two Ricoh Pro C9210s, two Kodak Digimaster 300s to handle MICR printing, a Ricoh Pro 8220 for NCR, and a Xanté En/Press digital envelope printer.
This was just the second Road Show of the year planned by IPMA. Next week, the University of Oklahoma’s in-plant will hold a Road Show in Norman, Oklahoma, on May 23, the day before the university celebrates the retirement of Director John Sarantakos, after 26 years of service to OU.
