Open House at Roanoke
More than 60 customers attended an open house in the Roanoke College print shop last month. Jacob Jackson, Information Technology Systems support manager at Roanoke College, in Salem, Va., hosted the event to show off the in-plant’s Ricoh production equipment and the print shop’s capabilities. Ricoh provided refreshments and several door prizes.
“I was especially thrilled that our director of Public Relations attended,” says Jackson. “In talking with her, it was clear that there were many things that she was unaware of.”
The in-plant retired its offset equipment a couple of years ago, and earlier this year added a Ricoh Aficio MP C6000 color copier and a Ricoh Pro 1106EX high-volume digital printer. It also added an EFI MicroPress, an MBM Triumph cutter and a DestroyIt 4002cc shredder.
“The open house was very successful because there were many students that had no idea that Roanoke College even had a print shop,” remarks Sue Tryon, who operates the in-plant’s equipment, along with four part-time students.
“My expectations were actually exceeded with the event,” says Jackson. IPG
