RIT In-plant Named PIXI Winner
“It’s the innovation part that really sets apart all these entries,” Meyer notes.
The Reporter issue that received the award used a combination of web offset and digital printing, and marked a collaboration between RIT’s Print Applications Lab, RIT students on staff at the Reporter and the in-plant. More than 430 photos were taken of students, and these were used, in various combinations, to print 10,000 unique copies of the weekly magazine. The original idea and the bulk of the file preparation was done by the students, led by Production Manager John Carew, now an RIT graduate.
