Finishing in Style at UNT

As he wraps up his career at the University of North Texas this month, retiring Director Jimmy Friend has made one last addition to his in-plant’s impressive arsenal of equipment: a new Pitney Bowes Mailstream Engage envelope converter.

This unique device combines digital print and variable data software to create personalized mail pieces. It folds letter-size sheets into envelopes (called micro billboards) with the personalized message printed on them. It also inserts letter-size sheets inside. The device will enable UNT’s award-winning in-plant to produce targeted direct mailings, initially for the Athletics and Advancement departments.

Friend’s 23-year career at UNT will come to a close on December 21. The new director will be Richard Griffin, director of Central Piedmont Community College Campus Printing & Signs.
