Printing Blunder Wakes County to the Benefits of In-house Printing
One Florida community learned a hard lesson about the perils of turning over sensitive data to outside printers rather than printing it in-house. The Suncoast News in Tampa reported that after Pasco County's printing contractor mistakenly sent out nearly 2,000 auto vehicle registrations with the wrong personal information on them, Tax Collector Mike Fasano has terminated that printer.
“We’re bringing all of the printing services in-house beginning next month,” Fasano said. “I just wish we could have done it sooner.”
Fasano says he "inherited" the printer when Gov. Rick Scott appointed him tax collector last year.
“From the time I was appointed, I was always concerned about having a third-party person printing these,” he told the Suncoast News. Read the full story here.
