At a ceremony in Denver on Wednesday evening, the In-Print 2016 Best of Show winners were revealed at last. With hundreds of in-plant managers, vendors and other industry figures in attendance at the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association awards banquet, two videos were played showing the judges selecting the winners: one for the offset categories and one for non-offset.
The contest, a partnership between IPG and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association, drew 430 entries. Twenty-eight of them won Gold awards, and it was from this prestigious group that the Best of Show winners were selected. To be surprised, watch the videos now, before scrolling down to the rest of the story.
For the offset categories, it came down to three excellent pieces, from Brigham Young University, the University of Oklahoma and the Church of Scientology. After much deliberating, the judges took a vote and unanimously chose the Church of Scientology’s booklet.
In the non-offset categories, the Church of Scientology once again made it to the final three, along with Yale University and the State of Colorado. But after the final vote, Yale was selected for the prize. This was the first time either in-plant has won Best off Show.
