I just flew home from Chicago last night after spending five very full days at PRINT 17. My schedule was jam packed with in-plant breakfasts and luncheons, vendor press conferences, video shoots, meetings, booth tours and evening events. Needless to say I'm still exhausted.
During the show, I saw in-plant managers all over the place — checking out equipment, watching software demos or sitting in the audience for one of the numerous seminars for in-plants. IPG hosted a breakfast and a lunch for in-plants, both of which were very well attended. The In-plant Printing and Mailing Association's luncheon also drew a very large crowd of managers, as did its booth reception on Monday afternoon. In-plant were definitely not overlooked at PRINT 17.
Even the show daily — produced this year by NAPCO Media, IPG's parent company — was filled with articles about in-plants and coverage of the in-plant seminars taking place. It contained profiles of several in-plants such as Arizona State University, Kohler Corp., Cal State Chico, Shriners International and East Baton Rouge School System. Some of those stories appeared on the first page of the daily, sending the message to the entire industry that in-plants are a force to be reckoned with.
For those who couldn't attend PRINT 17, I've decided to republish many of these articles in today's Enews, so you can see for yourself what show attendees saw each day when they scanned the show news.
