Presstek Visits IPG Headquarters
Representatives from Presstek traveled to IPG's Philadelphia's headquarters yesterday to reveal the new products they plan to launch at GRAPH EXPO, October 3-6 in Chicago. These include new thermal plates, new computer-to-plate devices and a new direct imaging offset press.
On the plate side, Presstek will unveil the Aurora EXP chemistry-free, daylight-safe thermal plate, which is currently being beta tested. Also new will be the Aeon thermal plate, able to produce up to 1 million impressions (baked).
A pair of two-page platesetters will debut at GRAPH EXPO: the DPM Pro-400 poly/paper platesetter, with a compact footprint, low chemistry usage and able to produce 29 plates per hour at 2,400 dpi; and the Vector FL 52-AL chemistry-free CTP system, with an integrated water wash and speeds of 16 pph. The Dimension Pro line will feature a next generation 830 nm thermal imaging platform and a new auto loader option.
After a successful debut at Ipex, Presstek will launch its 75DI press at GRAPH EXPO. It is notable for reducing prepress time to under four minutes. Jobs can go from a digital file to ink on paper in just 10 minutes, said Mark Sullivan, group product director for digital printing. The B2-format press can print six-up at 8.5x11˝.
