Presstek Hires Ex Pitman President

The Pitman Co. has been in the news a lot lately. First Kodak terminated Pitman's right to distribute Kodak products and signed up xpedx as its authorized reseller. Then Agfa Graphics signed an agreement to purchase the Pitman Co., a leading US supplier of prepress, industrial ink-jet, pressroom and packaging printing products and systems.

Now Presstek has hired Joe Demharter, former president of the Pitman Co., to lead its United States and Canadian sales efforts. Demharter will report to Jeff Jacobson, Chairman, President and CEO of Presstek.

"During his 38 years in the graphic arts business, he has earned an enviable reputation for his industry knowledge, sales leadership and customer focus," said Jacobson. "We are excited that he has elected to join our management team and are confident that he will make a significant and positive impact."
