A first look at our live survey about equipment installations at in-plants shows that nearly 70% now have wide-format printers — and 48% of them own more than one. Almost 24% of these in-plants say their wide-format volume has undergone a "major increase" (more than 10%) in the past 12 months. Overall, 32% of respondents so far say they have installed a wide-format printer in the past two years.
Our survey is examining equipment and applications at in-plants, with a focus on wide-format and production inkjet equipment. While the survey is off to a good start, we're seeking additional in-plant responses, and are offering an incentive. Three in-plant participants will be chosen to win $50 American Express gift cards. Take the survey here.
Our preliminary results (which will change when the survey is complete) show that aqueous inkjet systems are the most popular right now, with 27% of in-plants owning one. Close behind are latex systems, used by 25% of respondents.
In terms of future equipment acquisition plans, however, wide-format ranks forth, behind digital color and monochrome printers and bindery equipment, which more in-plants say they plan to add in the next two years.
We'll have much more data to reveal once the survey is complete. If you haven't yet taken it, please do so now. You could win a nice prize.
