In-plants heading to Chicago for Graph Expo will enjoy several opportunities to get together, enjoy a free meal and hear what some of their fellow managers are doing to get ahead.
As we did last year, IPG will host three in-plant-only events: two breakfasts and a luncheon. Editor Bob Neubauer will be on hand to greet managers and moderate the seminars, which will include time for attendees to share their challenges and successes, ask each other for advice and discuss the technologies on the show floor. The free, catered in-plant meetings, all in room S104, will take place:
- Monday September 14, 9:00 a.m. Breakfast. Canon Solutions America will launch a centralized Web-based suite of tools and resources called the Performance Resource Center to help in-plant managers deliver more value and run a best-in-class in-plant. Barb Pellow, group director at InfoTrends, will explain why offering value-added services such as cross-media can be critical to staying relevant.
- Tuesday September 15, 9:00 a.m. Breakfast. A panel of leading in-plant managers will discuss best practices that have helped them transform their in-plants. The panel will include Cathy Skoglund, of Arizona State University, Marcie Carr, with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Publications, and two other in-plant managers. Sponsored by Xerox. (All available seats for this breakfast event have been filled.)
- Tuesday September 15, 12:00 p.m. Lunch. Tom Rohrbach, of Progressive Insurance, will discuss his efforts to insource the variable and creative work that his company is currently outsourcing. He will share the careful analytical process he uses when considering whether work can be produced cost-effectively in-house. He’ll also reveal the in-plant’s future direction. Sponsored by Rochester Software Associates.

A bonus fourth in-plant event is being hosted by the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association on Monday September 14, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. The free luncheon, open to all in-plants, will feature Howie Fenton, of InfoTrends, as the keynote speaker. Register for the IPMA luncheon here: ipma.org/2015-graph-expo
