Debbie Pavletich, director of Graphic Services at Briggs & Stratton, in Milwaukee, Wis., is the new president of the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA). She assumed the new office on Monday, taking over for former president Mike Loyd, who retired September 30 as director of Graphic Services at Louisiana State University.
“I feel very privileged to be at the helm of an organization that provides such a variety of support and resources to its membership,” she says. “Mike has done a fabulous job of guiding this association through a very critical period of change. I am looking forward to working with not only IPMA’s board of directors, but the entire membership to offer the kinds of programs and services needed to stay current in today’s highly technical, ever-changing arena.”
Adds Mike Loyd, “I would like to thank the membership for its support during my presidency. I am very proud of the programs and conferences that we have been able to implement with your help. I am confident that Debbie will play a major role in raising awareness within the industry and the business community regarding the valuable contributions made by in-house printing and mailing professionals. Her abundance of energy and fresh new ideas ensure IPMA’s continued success. We are fortunate to have someone with her extensive in-plant experience and professional contacts in this key leadership position.”
Pavletich has over 30 years of experience in the graphic services industry. Since 1992, she has managed a team of 35 professionals in the Graphic Services Department at Briggs & Stratton, the world’s largest producer of air-cooled gasoline engines. After attaining a certificate in management from Marquette University, she completed comprehensive coursework in finance at the University of Chicago. She has spoken at conferences in the Midwest and internationally on the subject of desktop publishing software and workflow. Liz Hunter has become IPMA’s new President-Elect. Employed by the City of Colorado Springs for 13 years, Hunter currently serves as its Office Services Manager. She was the chairperson of IPMA’s 2007 Conference Planning Committee.
