manroland web Names Greg Blue CEO
AUGSBURG, GERMANY—manroland web systems announced that Greg Blue, a 19-year veteran of the printing industry, will be taking over as CEO of the company, effective immediately. Blue's experience includes many years of service knowledge and management experience in a host of critical areas ranging from application engineering, project and support management and aftermarket business development.
“I’m excited to take full advantage of the opportunities manroland web systems has in its future,” Blue said. “My primary goal is to search for new growth opportunities which will continue to strengthen existing relationships with our customers. The team in place in North America is a group of seasoned professionals, and I will be joining them with the goal of leveraging the globally-respected technology of manroland web systems’ products to make our customers the most successful in the print industry.”
Blue replaces Roland Ortbach, whose commitment to the company’s first year of operation has been fulfilled. Ortbach will continue as vice president of sales for manroland web systems.
“I was very pleased to have had the opportunity to lead our team through our first year," Ortbach said. "We are now ready to move forward and our next critical phase of growth requires the leadership of an individual who has spent much of his career in the service and customer support area of our industry.”
In March 2012, the North American branch of manroland web systems began business in the United States and Canada. Specific and challenging goals were put forward for the company’s first year.
These goals included (but were not limited to) strengthening the parts and service support to existing customers; relocating the substantial North American parts inventory to a new warehouse in Elk Grove Village, IL; expansion of the printcom pressroom consumables product portfolio for U.S. and Canadian customers; relocating North American headquarters to a new office in Lisle, IL; and completing the year with a financial profit.
