Last Friday, the Print Center at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania held an open house that promised "new beginnings" for some 80 Wharton and Penn faculty and staff attendees.
The Philadelphia in-plant recently added a host of new equipment and software and wanted to showcase it all. Staff and vendor partners highlighted the new color capabilities available to customers and the shop's new wide-format capabilities.
Ricoh representatives were on hand to demonstrate equipment like the Ricoh Pro C7110 and the Ricoh wide-format printer and tout the upcoming offering of EFI's DirectSmile to create cross-media marketing campaigns. Rochester Software Associates showed off the in-plant's WebCRD Web-to-print software system for job ordering.
Visitors stopped at stations dedicated to these highlighted business capabilities, then enjoyed a reception with food, drinks and music. They also received a "swag bag" of Wharton store items, and spun a "color wheel" to win promotions from Wharton Printing for items like free t-shirts, coupons for orders through WebCRD, free banners and more.
"There was a palpable excitement in the air during and after the open house," said Wharton Printing Manager Kelly Boyle-Kinsella. "All of the attendees can't wait to do business with us at the start of the school year, when we roll out all of our new capabilities in force. It is a very exciting time to be a part of Wharton Printing."
