Numerous Product Launches at Graph Expo

The official numbers aren't in yet, but the crowds at this week's Graph Expo show in Chicago seemed larger than in previous years. Those who attended certainly had a number of new products to check out. Here are just a few of the new machines unveiled at Graph Expo:
- Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. showed the new bizhub PRESS C1100 color digital press, which prints 100 pages per minute on substrates up to 360 gsm. It also demonstrated the new bizhub PRESS 2250P monochrome digital press, which combines two bizhub PRESS 1250P engines and prints 250 ppm duplex. The new JETvarnish 3DS digital spot UV 3D coater, designed by MGI, was another booth highlight.
- Ricoh Americas launched the 90-ppm Pro C7100X series cut-sheet device with a fifth color station and a maximum sheet size of 13x19.2˝. Also unveiled was the Pro C9100/C9110, printing at 110 or 130 ppm on sheets up to 400 gsm, in simplex and duplex with a standard sheet size of 13×19˝.
- Xerox debuted the Impika eVolution drop-on-demand piezoelectric production inkjet device, with speeds up to 3,628 pages per minute and a 20˝ web width. Also shown was the new Versant 2100 short-run digital color production press, running 110 ppm with Ultra HD resolution rendering and new, low-gloss dry inks.
- Canon featured its new imagePRESS C800 Digital Color Press Series, boasting Gloss Optimization technology and an Advanced Image Transfer Belt, to increase toner transfer efficiency on smooth as well as uneven media surfaces.
- Kodak showed an enhanced version of its NexPress platform featuring one-meter (39.37˝) sheet length, the addition of Dura Coat Mode, the inclusion of Kodak NexPress Light Black HD dry ink in the fifth imaging unit and an automated imaging cylinder cleaning system.
- EFI proudly displayed its 11 Must See 'Ems award winners, including the EFI VUTEk GS2000lx Pro printer with UltraDrop technology.
- MGI Digital Graphic Technology showed five new digital solutions, including the Meteor DP8700 XL+ with an increased format size of up to 47” long.
- Epson announced the SpectroProofer-UVS in-line spectrophotometer for its 17˝, 24˝ and 44˝ Epson Stylus Pro printers.
- HP showcased the HP Indigo 7800 and 30000 digital presses.
- Xanté showed the new ILUMINA Heavyweight Champion Digital Print System, the wide-format Excelagraphix 4200, Impressia Digital Multi-Media Press and patent-pending Enterprise High Speed Feed System.
- OKI introduced the C711DW high-quality digital color label printer, incorporating digital die cutting and film lamination.
- Duplo showed off a new slitter/cutter/creaser, the DC-616 PRO, which can perform up to six slits, 25 cuts, and 20 creases in a single pass.
- MBO highlighted its Variable Booklet Production System, which offers variable cutting and selective folding capabilities, and allows different size signatures to be printed on the same roll.
- Standard Finishing Systems launched its line of Horizon rotary die cutters: the RD-4055 (a Must See ‘Ems Award winner) and RD-3346, both of which can die cut, crease, perforate, slit, hole punch and round corner in one process.
