Unlike the students of Omaha Public Schools, the district's in-plant does not take the summer off. Instead, it is currently in one of its busiest periods, producing about 73,000 student handbooks for the new school year.
A new video created by the school district gives a behind-the-scenes look at the Printing & Publications Services operation busily producing these books, which range from 18-24 pages. Manager Steve Priesman says that producing the 3.5 million images for this job will take 470 hours of machine time.
"It does take a team," he says in the video. "We've got a lot of staff here that are working very hard."
